A trip to Mars

Comprehension and Precis:
The scientists must learn much more about the atmosphere that surrounds Mars before anyone attempts to go there. A rubber ball, which contains radio transmitter, could be dropped from a satellite and it would fall towards the surface of the planet. Scientists would signal the rate that the ball slows down and calculate the density of the atmosphere. More information about Mars can be obtained when a capsule containing scientific instruments may be dropped on to the planet's surface.

Vocabulary:
travelling: moving, go from one place to another place.
reaches: to arrive
contains: consists, has (to have something inside or include something as a part)
solve: find solution for (to find an answer for a problem)
provide: to give, to supply (to give somebody something that they need)
markings: certain areas on a surface that is somehow different (damage, dirty...) to the remaining.
surface: the top cover(outer layer) of something (The outer or top part/layer of something)
thought: be supposed

Composition:
Once the rocket had got beyond the earth's atmosphere, the moon looked like a shining yellow ball that is not very far from our Earth Planet. On entering the Moon, the rocket could not keep balance and shook violently. The astronauts, who had been specially trained for this difficult journey, was sustainable for this situation and tried to reduce the tension as much as possible. After the rocket landed on the moon, the astronauts got out and put their first steps on the Moon, which was pictured and transmitted to the Earth. They were wearing heavy suits so that they can be protected from different atmosphere between the Earth and the Moon. The astronauts explored different parts of the Moon and they collected soil and rockets from the surface of the Moon. The moon lanscape was not as not as we had thought. It would be impossible for human beings to live there because there was no water supply as well as living botany. It consisted mostly hard rocks and mountains. From this distance, the Earth looked like a green ball, which was much better than the Moon. After the austronauts had finished their collection, the rocket began its journey back to Earth.

Key structure:
By now, a rocket will have been set offonits 35 million mile trip to Mars. The rocket will be travelling for 6 months before it reaches the planet. Any pictures that are taken willhave to travel for three mminutes before they reaches the earth.

Special Difficulties:
I shall be waiting for you at the station
By this time tomorrow, the Astra will have been flying through space for seventeen houes

Why are you wasting your time? You could be finishing your work.
My aunt may be coming tomorrow.
Tom isn't here. He must be working in the garden.
We could have been flying to Spain now if we had bought the tickets in time.
Yyou have been trying harder, but your work is still not good enough.
I'm sorry I'm late. You must have been waiting for a long time.

Exercise:
Jimmy is upstair. He must be doing his homwork
Jimmy was upstair. He must have been doing his homework.
I wish it wasn't raining. We could have been playing tennis.
We must have been waiting for the bus for over an hour before it arrived.
