A Famous Monastery

Comprehension and Precis:
In summer time, St Bernard is visited by thousands of people who cross the Pass by cars. The dogs are kept in a special enclosure because there are many people there. In winter, temperature dropped to about -30 degree, and there are few visitors then, so the monks prefer winter season to summer time. The dogs are free to wander around their enclosure in winter time. Skiers visit the monastery regularly in winter time, especially during Christmas and Easter, and they are warmly welcomed by the monastery.

As usual in winter time, when the monastery have more privacy, a monk took two dogs out of their enclosure for a exercise. However, on their way to the Pass, they saw a group of people are searching for someone under the snow. The dogs were really restless as they could not take a peaceful walk and had to join in the group to organize a search party. Using their sensitive nose, the dogs led the monks through the snow to search for the missing guy. Under very high winds of the previous night, the snow became very thick and there were heavy fog that triggered the temperature dropped to -20 degree, which made the search more difficult. As they got near a left corner of the Pass, they heard a soft cries, and they began to dig the snow. A man was trapped under the snow and the dogs attempted to drag him out of the trap. He was unconscious and was taken to the monastery on a sledge.

The man was unconscious becaus of coldness, so he was warmed up in front of a fireplace, and milked was popped into his mouth. He recovered later, and he told them what had happened the previous night. When he was skiing towards the monastery, suddenly heavy winds blowed up, and snow and fog began to drop fast and trapped him. He was unable to get out until he was rescued by the dogs.

What always happens, What happened, and what has happened.

Special Difficulties:
The word -ever is sometimes used in this way to emphasize the words like who, which, and what.

Now that he's grown up, he does whatever he pleases.
